ESP Portfolio Update: Take $2965 (35.5%) Profit on BROS.

I am recommending selling shares in coffee retailer Dutch Bros (BROS) after a nearly $3000 gain.

The stock soared after the company’s most Q4 2024 earnings report which beat expectations in extraordinary fashion. The company is on a growth tear with a 35% revenue growth rate and increasing sales beyond expectations. The company seems to be on a steady trajectory toward prices but is currently overextended, so it’s time to take the money and run.

Market Update

Stocks are marking time this morning after a mixed PPI number which came in hotter than expected but lower than the December number. The New York Stock Exchange Advance Decline line (NYAD) remains range bound but within reach of a new high.

The U.S. Ten Year Note yield (TNX) is retracing yesterday’s CPI related climb. So once again, it looks as if TNX may challenge the 4.5% yield area.

Our Extended Stay portfolio continues to hold its own with its latest addition rallying nicely after its earnings beat expectations and the company raised its guidance for the 2025 fiscal year. This energy company is well poised for the likely changes in U.S. energy policy and the geopolitical changes that are developed. It is also still well within its BUY range.
